SUMMARY:Workshop on Biodynamics farming and vegetable production
DESCRIPTION:Dear Students and Fellow Travellers in My Journey From Soil to Soul,\nThe Bhaikaka Gurukul was started in 2011 with very modest resources and facilities and it is very heartening to see its slow but steady, organic growth over the last 13 years. Under its aegis, I have been able to share with all of you, my passion, insights, learnings, mistakes and expertise in sustainable, holistic farming and in particular Biodynamic Agriculture and the Art of Vegetable Production. The upcoming winter workshop (3rd Jan. to 11th Jan., 2024) will, in all probability, be the last workshop at the Bhaikaka Gurukul unless the Almighty has some surprises in store for us. All good things must come to an end but in this case, the Gurukul will continue to live through all of you.\nWe want to make this winter workshop a celebration of what we have been able to achieve over these years. Meena and I have planned a special Alumni meet before the workshop starts. Following are the details of this meet –\nArrive at BKK: 31st Dec. evening or 1st January morning\nDeparture from BKK: 2nd January by 4:00 p.m. latest\nMaximum on-Farm accommodation: Limited to 40 on first come first served basis\nMaximum Participants: 50 (40 can stay on the Farm; 10 late registrations will have to arrange their own off-farm accommodation).\nYou will have two Farm Walks (what my apprentices like to call ‘In the Farmer’s Footsteps’) with me on 1st late afternoon and 2nd morning. The rest of the day (on both 1st and 2nd) will be devoted to Alumni presentations. Each attendee will be given 10-15 minutes to make a short photo presentation of their own soil to soul journey.\nOn the evening of the 1st, an informal Q&A session is planned in the Peter Proctor Kutir. This Kutir stands on sacred ground – the very place that my mentor, Peter Proctor, conducted his first workshop at BKK in December 2001. Peter and Rachel loved being here at BKK and spent almost 9 months with Meena and me.\nThe Q&A session will be followed by a campfire dinner and social night. We expect to have many of your other teachers attending this celebration.\nWe will charge a modest fee (including food and accommodation for 2 days and 2 nights) of Rs. 3000/-. This is the suggested fee but you are welcome to donate more or less (with Rs. 1500/- being the minimum if you really cannot afford the cost).\nHope to see you all. Please contact Murugesh for help with registration and other details.\nMeena and I hope to see you all.\nWith Love and Affection,\nSarvdaman\n
